Who we are, what we do, and why
All around us, nature unfolds and expands in all directions, and not just physically - mentally and spiritually as well. The world of dreams and the waking world are not quite so separate and distinct as we may believe. What if I told you there is more magic in the world, and in you, than you could ever possibly know what to do with. And hence, as members of The Wildwood Co. Adventurers' Guild, we walk in wonder, in awe of the beauty and mystery of this world.
As a guild, our primary goal is to be a safe space for people of similar interests to connect, learn, and grow together. We offer content and experiences intended to inspire, empower, and educate. We hope that through our work, a new kind of society will be influenced, one where Nature, Dream, and Spirit are intrinsic and harmonious with our consensus reality, rather than at odds with it.
Our Story
The Wildwood Co began with a simple yet powerful vision - to invite people of any and all backgrounds and life paths into deeper relationship with their selves, one another, the Earth and her creatures, and the vast and mysterious world of Dream and Spirit. One of our core intentions is to go about this very serious mission with as much fun, whimsy, and silliness as possible! Laughter is cathartic, play is healing, and adventure is not only inherent to the human experience, but vital.
Founded by River Rose Boyd, The Wildwood Co was born from many dreams, meditation journeys, and late nights with their countless journals. River had worked for a long time to bring their experiences working with Spirit (through Tarot, yoga & meditation, adventures in nature and global travel, and much more) to their community via an organization that is mindful, sustainable, trauma-informed, inclusive, progressive, and effective at helping people be their most honest and empowered selves. For quite a long time, they encountered roadblock after roadblock. During a night of frustration and exhaustion, they turned once more to Spirit for guidance and received a simple and practical response: "Don't take it all so seriously! Have fun, have a laugh - the spirits love that, and people are no different." Lightning struck! In a seemingly unrelated area of their heart lay the memories of many years reading fantasy books, watching animated shows and movies, and playing cards, board games, and video games. A thought occurred: "What if these things don't have to be an escape from life, but a way to bring us closer to it?"
Suddenly, The Wildwood Co emerged! A lens through which to explore potent themes like healing from trauma, exploring spirituality, and reconnecting humanity with the planet that birthed it, but with a fantastical view - what if we were all adventurers in a fantasy novel, or our favorite anime, or an immersive video game? What if our story is just that - a story, and we are our own favorite character seeking to explore a mysterious world and to develop ourselves to our heart's content. Life can be a dream! And what if... it already is? The Wildwood Co is itself a dream, a vision of a world where the child in us doesn't disappear as we grow and develop, but informs our choices, balanced by the wisdom we gain with adulthood. We offer a version of reality that is very different from the ones most of us walk in today, a reality where the dream realm and the waking world are not so far apart - where spirit and human are not so distinctly different.
We sincerely hope that this organization, this Guild of brave adventurers, can be a safe haven for all who dream, and an inspiration for all who have forgotten how.
